CCC is pleased to participate in a festive event to raise awareness and funds for various local charities.
As well as the opportunity to peruse a beautiful array of decorated trees (some quite innovative in design) and the chance to stop and chat over tea and cake, this event also brings to your attention some of the organisations in the local community who are working tirelessly to improve the lives of local people.
From religious and community groups to health charities and organisations working with those with special needs, there are over 30 trees displayed in the main worship hall at the Salvation Army Citadel in Peterborough. Many have hand-crafted decorations and contributions from those who have been helped and it is quite inspiring to see what is being achieved, that we are perhaps not aware of unless we are directly affected.
CCC is proud to be amongst their number, and leaflets are available for visitors to gain more insight into the work that we do. Guests are invited to vote for their favourite tree and can opt to make contributions to some funds is they so wish, but the event is free of charge to enter and donations are optional. It is more of a seasonal reminder of the good work and the goodwill alive in our community, as well as being a beautiful sight and a lovely way to spend an hour or so.
