World Mental Health Day 2016

World Mental Health Day is a time which has been set aside each year since 1992 to celebrate and promote global mental health education, awareness and advocacy.  This initiative is run by the World Federation for Mental Health, a global organisation, which now has members and contacts in excess of 150 countries.  Since 1992, the focus for topics has included; the link between mental health and meeting and eating with family and friends, mindfulness, depression, and how to take a proactive approach to your personal wellbeing.  This year, World Mental Health Day will take place on Monday 10th October.  This provides an opportunity for us all to consider how we attend to our own mental wellbeing and to that of those around us.

Tea and Talk is an annual fundraising event at which members of the public are encouraged to put the kettle on for a group of friends, family or colleagues and make a donation to the Mental Health Foundation.

Why not fund some much needed counselling sessions for those in need by donating to CCC?

This year, the focus of the campaign is psychological first aid and the support that people can provide for those in distress.  It focusses on trauma, how it affects people and ways to help manage any resulting longer-term health conditions.  See our Self Help Guides for more information.
